Taylor Maitland
Associate, Employment Law
Taylor Maitland obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Global Development Studies from Queen’s University. She graduated as a member of the Dean’s Honour list with Distinction and is a two-time recipient of the Dean’s Special Award for academic achievement. She then earned her J.D. from Western University where she was an active member of the legal community. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021.
Taylor is a strong advocate and a clear communicator. She works collaboratively to address and resolve challenging disputes. Prior to beginning her career at Reist Krauss Bauer LLP, Taylor articled at a national, full-service law firm where she developed a passion for employment law and an interest in representing both employee and employer clients.
Taylor is dedicated to community leadership and volunteerism. In her last two years at Western, Taylor worked as an associate caseworker for Western’s Community Legal Services clinic where she represented local residents and students on a wide variety of legal files. Taylor also served as a staff editor for the Canadian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence and the Western Journal of Legal Studies and volunteered as a Mentor for incoming first year law students, providing advice and resources to aid students in navigating the challenges of first year.
She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Waterloo Region Law Association.
