Max was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012 and has ever since dedicated his practice to employment law on behalf of both employers and employees. Max began as an Associate at Morrison Reist Krauss in the summer of 2017. Max enthusiastically joined the partnership of Morrison Reist Krauss in January of 2024.

Background

Max was born and raised in Waterloo Region and obtained his undergraduate degree in Communications and Global Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University followed by his Juris Doctorate at Queen’s University in 2011.  While at Queen’s Law, Max was the recipient of several awards and accolades for his academic accomplishments as well as his contributions to the school.

Prior to returning to Kitchener-Waterloo and to Morrison Reist Krauss, Max resided in Toronto where he articled at a prominent national Employment and Labour law firm.  Thereafter, Max provided advice and counsel on employment law related matters while working at one of Canada’s major financial institutions.

Legal Practice

At Reist Krauss Bauer, Max advises on all aspects of the employment relationship, including advising and representing both employees and employers on terminations, human rights matters, health and safety issues, resolving workplace conflicts, advising on, and negotiating employment agreements, and severance packages as well as representing employers and employees in litigation.

Max is approachable, ‘down-to-earth’ and works with empathy and compassion fully dedicating himself to helping individuals and employers through challenging times.  Max customizes his approach based on each client’s particular needs and preferences to obtain the best outcome possible.

Community Involvement

Max has been interviewed by, and featured on, various media outlets including the CBC on issues related to employment law. Max is a member of the Waterloo Region Law Association and a co-chair of their EMPOWR group. Max has been a guest speaker for legal courses at Wilfrid Laurier University and Trios college as well as a speaker for the Grand Valley Human Resources Professional Association.
